Recipe: Al Pastor Spiked Agua Fresca
We love our Al Pastor Spiked Agua Fresca recipe so much that we created a special edition promotional box centered around it for National Taco Day!
We partnered with our generous friends at @mezcalojodetigre and brought on both the local ceramic artist, @clayqueeries, who hand-crafted gorgeous custom copitas and @bluehenry who supplied their beautiful dehydrated piña garnishes. While our entire seasoning trio was included in the limited-run gift box, our Al Pastor seasoning is the star of the show for our Spiked Agua Fresca. Try out the recipe for yourself below!
4 cups water
1 - 1 1/2 cups raw turbinado sugar
1 medium ripe pineapple, peeled and quartered
Tequila of choice
1 tsp Todo Verde Al Pastor seasoning
1 tbsp salt
- Add water and sugar to a blender, and blend until sugar is dissolved. Add the quartered pineapple and lime juice, and blend until smooth. Reserve any foam for garnish.
- Add the Al Pastor seasoning and salt to a bowl, and mix.
- Add the salt mixture to a plate and rim your 12oz serving glasses using the lime to add moisture.
- Add ice to each glass, 2oz tequila (or more — no shade!) over the ice. Add the pineapple lime agua fresca and garnish with any reserved pineapple foam and pineapple leaves.
